not so famous hot cocoa

serving up some hot cocoa

I love contests….

(even though I rarely win one, lol)

So I thought it was time to have another giveaway!!!

Just to spice things up a little and to see what kind of things you are interested in reading here on our lil’ blog, I am going to be giving away some of our (not so) famous Peery House hot cocoa!

0k..for those of you who do not live close by, I realize you probably have not ever had or even heard of our “famous” hot cocoa. Let’s just say  you are missing a wonderfully rich and chocolatey experience!
But, you might be able to find a really good cup of hot cocoa where you live too. If you haven’t had ours,  you COULD always drive out and share a cup with us here in our little community. If road trips are your thing, of course.

To enter this contest, please just leave a comment. Let me know what kind of things you would like to read here on our new blog. You can be as random as you want, just keep it family friendly please.

*The winner must be able to pick up their prize from The Peery House.

In the event you live….say…. maybe in ALASKA (now wouldn’t THAT be something! to have a reader from Alaska, ha!) we can always donate your cocoa by picking from the list of local entries.

This should be fun!!

Winner to be announced on Tuesday!

Me, me, me! I love hot cocoa and have “heard” not experienced the wonderful recipe! As for the Peery House blog, I love seeing pictures of your creations, cakes, cookies etc. I do not bake so they all intrigue me. You are soooo talented. As the earlier poster said, tips from the Perry House kitchen would be good and having been a part of the lives of Kim and Gina keep up the history aspect. So many of the pictures are somewhat familiar to me.

I do enjoy all the mentions above about the blog so continue those.
Posting “The Peery House” recipes , I can answer. She won’t give them out even to her cousin. LOL With that said, I totally understand because the recipes are her signature for “The Peery House”. But it doesn’t stop us from asking her.
I’m proud of you cousin and love what you have done with our Grandmommy’s place. 🙂

  30. Nancy Thomas says:

Would love to try some of your hot cocoa! Everything I’ve tried that you served was delicious. I don’t suppose you’d be willing to post some of your great recipes. Of course without your special touch, it probably wouldn’t be as good!

  31. Linda King says:

I would love to try your hot cocoa sometime, preferably in cold weather! I agree with enjoying all the topics suggested so far and think it would be interesting when you tell about whom you are serving on a particular occasion, if you told a little about the background of the items you are using to serve them. What dishes, who’s silverware, etc. Those items are part of the wonderful history of the Peery House.

  32. Sheila Sams says:

I would love the opportunity to try your hot cocoa! Hot cocoa warms a person through and through. With all the winter crud people are dealing with this year I’m sure it will make whoever wins feels better!
I love reading your blog about your family… It is not just the stories you tell. It is the true love that is expressed through telling the stories… I know when you got your grandmothers old telephone number how much that meant to you! I still remember my “Mammy’s” telephone number too. I dialed it hundreds of times as a child and as a young adult. Wish I could have one of her “drop biscuits” now. Precious memories aren’t they?
I also love to read the witness you simply, but to the point share. Your testimony spills out and shines all over you.

  33. Dana Estes says:

i have not tried your famous hot cocoa but have heard all about it!!! hate that i missed out on a cup at the Christmas Parade to help warm me up.

i enjoy reading about the history of the peery house, family traditions, and the type of special occasions / people you have served in the peery home. you have a “special” business and a very special way of serving others as well as our Lord!!!
